Margoon’s most interesting feature is where the water comes from. It emerges directly from fissures in a limestone cliff, with numerous streams forming a broad waterfall into a green Zagros valley. This is not a single river falling from above the rock face. Watch the spread of the water and the places where it appears from the stone; the scene becomes a network of smaller falls rather than one concentrated drop. That relationship between limestone, springs and the valley gives the visit its distinctive focus.
