Amir Chakhmaq
Yazd · IRAN DIGITAL WALL

Amir Chakhmaq is a place to pause over repetition and scale. Its tiered façade carries rows of arches that form one of Yazd’s most recognisable views, with evening light often sharpening the impression of symmetry. The complex took shape in the Timurid period and includes a square, mosque, bazaar and historic cisterns. Rather than isolating the façade as a photograph, consider it within that wider urban arrangement. The relationship between a memorable front and the spaces around it makes this a rewarding stop in the city.
