Seimareh Ancient City
Ilam · IRAN DIGITAL WALL

A visit to Seimareh rewards attention to relationships: where a street ran, how a domestic building sat beside public space, and what remains of the city’s wider plan. One of western Iran’s major archaeological settlements, it records urban life in the late Sasanian and early Islamic periods. Excavated objects add detail to the evidence left by walls and street lines. The attraction is the chance to reconstruct a lived city in your mind, using fragments together rather than expecting a single complete monument to explain the site.
