Inside Vank, the eye moves from biblical scenes to gilded surfaces, tilework and Armenian lettering. The richness of the interior follows a restrained brick exterior, making close observation more rewarding than a quick photograph. This Holy Saviour complex in New Julfa remains an important spiritual and cultural centre for Iran’s Armenian community. Its art brings Armenian, Persian and European traditions together, while the museum and library extend the story into migration, printing, trade and community life. Allow time for both the decoration and those records: together they explain why the complex matters beyond its walls.
