Esfahak brings the desert into focus at the scale of a house and a village lane. In Tabas County, earthen buildings stand alongside surrounding date palms, while dark night skies give the setting another dimension after daylight. Following the 1978 earthquake, younger residents took part in restoring ancestral homes for rural accommodation. Their work is central to the destination’s story. Recognized among Best Tourism Villages by UN Tourism in 2024, Esfahak invites attention to both vernacular architecture and the community’s role in its renewal.
