Gahar Lake

At about 2,400 metres in the protected Oshtorankuh range, Gahar Lake is fed by melting snow and mountain springs. Clear water, rocky and sandy shores and surrounding peaks reward the fairly long approach on foot with a landscape of serene grandeur.

Khorramabad Bridges

Across one of Lorestan’s historic routes, Kashkan Bridge spans a river valley on massive stone piers and tall arches. A Kufic inscription dates its construction to the late fourth century AH. Even in partial ruin, its length and strength speak of skilled builders and the importance of Zagros communications.
