Kouhrang Springs
Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari · IRAN DIGITAL WALL
Kouhrang turns familiar river names into a mountain landscape of springs and heavy snow. Its headwaters help feed the Karun and Zayandeh Rud, while Dimeh Spring is one of the latter river’s sources. Close by lies the plain of inverted tulips, whose flowering is seasonal rather than a year-round feature. The wider region is closely connected with Bakhtiari life and seasonal migration. Viewing the springs within that setting adds meaning to a short stop: the water belongs to a landscape of mountains and pastoral movement, and to river systems that continue far beyond the highlands.
