Hengam’s appeal begins with the meeting of a rocky coast and village life. This small island south of Qeshm has clear waters and fishing settlements that make the sea both a landscape and a source of livelihood. Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins are sometimes seen nearby, but a visit should not depend on that possibility becoming a guarantee. The shoreline and villages provide their own perspective on the island’s maritime character. If dolphins do appear, observing without crowding or disturbing them keeps the encounter consistent with an appreciation of the surrounding natural environment.
