Qeshm Stars Valley
Hormozgan · IRAN DIGITAL WALL

Look at the gaps between the formations as well as the formations themselves. In Qeshm Stars Valley, wind and rain have cut soft sedimentary layers into pillars, narrow corridors and sharp edges. Daylight can emphasise one surface while leaving another in shadow, changing the apparent relationships without changing the rock. Moving your attention between individual forms and the spaces around them makes the landscape easier to read. The valley’s interest is grounded in erosion: a visible process that has turned relatively soft material into a complex arrangement of shapes, passages and light.
