Ganjali Khan Complex
Kerman · IRAN DIGITAL WALL

Ganjali Khan makes sense as a group of buildings serving a city’s needs. Its Safavid square connects the bazaar with a bathhouse, mosque, school, cistern and mint, allowing different parts of urban life to be understood together. Then shift attention to the craft: brick vaults, tilework and the elaborate hammam interior show how practical spaces were given decorative weight. Set in central Kerman and closely tied to bazaar life, the complex links the historic city plan with the scale of a wall, a vault or a room.
