At the edge of the Lut Desert in Kerman, Shafiabad brings together a historic fortified complex, qanats and locally run accommodation. The GOJINO women’s cooperative has used handicraft income to support water-system restoration and village tourism. Shafiabad was selected for Best Tourism Villages by UN Tourism in 2025.
