Gahar Lake
Lorestan · IRAN DIGITAL WALL

The walk to Gahar is part of what gives the lake its mountain character. Set at about 2,400 metres in the protected Oshtorankuh range, it receives water from springs and melting snow. On arrival, the contrast between the clear surface and the surrounding peaks becomes the main subject, with rocky and sandy sections varying the shoreline. This is a destination for an itinerary that allows time for the approach on foot. Its travel value lies in reaching a high mountain basin and seeing water, shore and peaks together, after a sustained walk.
