Lili Strait
Lorestan · IRAN DIGITAL WALL
Lili Strait draws attention to what water can do within a confined rocky space. Near Dorud, clear mountain water passes between high walls, over surfaces smoothed by erosion and through natural pools. The main interest is the relationship between moving water and shaped stone: unlike a broad valley, the gorge keeps both close to the eye. It suits travellers drawn to enclosed mountain landscapes and their textures. The pools are features to observe, rather than an assurance of swimming conditions; the gorge’s adventurous character comes from its narrow form and flowing water.
