Espidan Village
North Khorasan · IRAN DIGITAL WALL

Espidan’s mountain setting is expressed through both houses and gardens. The settlement’s terraced buildings occupy the slopes, while walnut and fruit orchards bring cultivated greenery into the rocky valleys of North Khorasan. Springs help explain that contrast between stone and green ground. A visit is rewarding when the view takes in the whole arrangement, rather than separating village architecture from its surroundings. Look at where houses step upward and where orchards fill the terrain around them. Together they show how water, cultivated land and building space share a limited mountain landscape.
