Martian Mountains
Sistan & Baluchestan · IRAN DIGITAL WALL

On the road from Chabahar to Gwadar Bay, grey-white ridges rise beside the blue Sea of Oman. The Martian Mountains break into sharp grooves and rippling outlines, their profile changing as the road continues along the coast. Wind and rain erosion shaped these unfamiliar forms, which look strikingly different from the water next to them. Give the land as much attention as the sea on this stretch of the journey. One view brings the ridges forward; another opens more of the shoreline, making the road itself part of the pleasure of seeing them.
