Kandelous invites attention to the things that make village life tangible. Traditional houses and lanes on the Alborz slopes lead towards a rural museum, where objects of local life are preserved. Community storytelling gives those objects a human setting, while medicinal-herb cultivation represents another part of the village’s character. Its selection for UN Tourism’s Best Tourism Villages in 2025 recognises this destination; that distinction is separate from UNESCO heritage status.
