The Salt Men Museum brings archaeology unusually close to individual lives. In Zanjan’s Zolfaghari Mansion, bodies and objects from the Chehrabad salt mine show what a saline environment can preserve: parts of ancient miners’ bodies, clothing and tools survive with exceptional clarity. The interest is not simply the preservation itself, but the evidence of work carried by these remains. Take time with the objects alongside the human material.
