El Goli has moved from reservoir to public promenade over a long history. The pool originated in the Aq Qoyunlu era and was enlarged under the Safavids; today, its central pavilion and surrounding garden form a familiar leisure setting in southeastern Tabriz. The water gives the architecture a second image through reflection. At sunset, as lights appear, that relationship becomes a reason to pause and look again. The interest is not only the pavilion itself but the way water, garden and public life have kept this historic place within the city’s present.
