Khosroabad presents a different scale of Sanandaj life from the bazaar. Built as both an administrative and residential complex in the Qajar period, it is associated with the Ardalan ruling house. The central pavilion is best read in relation to its courtyard and pool, rather than as an isolated facade. Brick decoration draws attention to the surfaces, while the arrangement of open space helps explain the ensemble. A visit adds a domestic and governmental perspective to the city: architecture here served residence and authority together, expressed through the relationship between building, water and courtyard.
