Palangan
Kurdistan · IRAN DIGITAL WALL

Palangan occupies both sides of the Tangivar Valley, so its architecture can be read across the river as well as from within the lanes. Stone houses climb the slopes in close steps; a lower roof serves as an upper home’s courtyard. Springs and river sound keep the valley present even among the buildings. The attraction is this close fit between settlement and terrain, not a detached view of old houses. Take the narrow passages at a considerate pace: the terraces and courtyards are parts of residents’ daily lives, and the village remains their home.
