This Khoy site has two distinct points of interest. A mausoleum attributed to Shams-e Tabrizi draws travellers interested in Rumi and Sufism, while the neighbouring historic tower carries a different story of power and display. Associated with Shah Ismail Safavi, its brickwork incorporates ram horns and hunting trophies. Look closely at that unusual decoration, then consider how the tower and the attributed tomb coexist. The encounter brings literary memory and Safavid royal taste into the same place without turning the attribution into a certainty.
